Karla Caves and Ekvira Devi Temple Infomation
Karla Caves "Karla" Ancient name as "Valuraka" is one of the most famous centers of early rock-cut architecture excavated about 100 Mtrs. on a high spur of the chain of hills on the North Flank of Indrayani Valley and just 8 km away from another Buddhist rock-cut caves of Bhaja towards the south.
The group of Karla includes a total of 16 excavations depicting artistic embellishment of Hinayana (Theravada) and Mahayana sects of Buddhism that prevailed from 2nd Century BC to 6th-7th Century AD. Of them, only one is Chaityagriha, and the rest 15 are Viharas.
The Chaityagriha at Karla is the biggest of its type in the whole of India excavated during the Satavahana period. it consists of an apsidal hall with a front verandah. The apsidal hall is divided into a nave and row aisles by two rows of pillars, which meet at the rear behind the stupa in a semicircle thus forming the apse.
एकवीरा देवी मंदिर भारत के महाराष्ट्र में लोनावला के कारला गुफाओं के पास स्थित एक हिंदू मंदिर है। यहां, देवी एकविरा की पूजा गुफाओं के ठीक ऊपर की जाती है, मंदिर अग्री-कोली लोगों की पूजा के लिए एक प्रमुख स्थान है।
लेकिन कोली लोक के साथ साथ एकवीरा देवी की पूजा कई परिवारों द्वारा की जाती है, इस मंदिर परिसर में मूल रूप से तीन तरह के एक धार्मिक मंदिर होते थे, जो कि सभी पश्चिम की तरफ एक पंक्ति में निर्मित होते थे।
इनमें से, केंद्रीय और दक्षिणी मंदिर पूरी तरह से संरक्षित होते हैं और शेष संरचनाएं केवल योजना पर ही संरक्षित होती हैं और जो भी मंजूरी के काम में प्रकाश में लाया जाता है।
महा-मंडपा, वरशा-मंडपा और गोपुरा इन तीनों तीर्थों के सामने स्थित हैं और इन तीन तीर्थस्थलों को अतिरिक्त परिवार देवता के सोलह तीर्थों से घिरा हुआ है। नवरात्रि और चैत्री नवरात्र के सभी अवसरों पर भक्त मंदिर की पूजा करते हैं।
